TwitchView™

TwitchView™ is a quantitative train of four monitoring device that eliminates the guesswork in the assessment of neuromuscular block (paralysis) during surgery. For many operations, neuromuscular block (a paralyzing agent) is administered to keep vital organs from moving during surgery. The anesthesiologist needs to know the extent of the muscular block on a real-time basis to determine whether the patient is still sufficiently paralyzed. The device can effectively increase patient safety by reducing the risk of adverse events including a serious condition called “accidental awareness” where the patient wakes up during surgery but is still paralyzed and unable to speak or move.

We designed the hardware and firmware for this device and generated the documentation required for FDA clearance. We also supervised the RF measurements at an independent test lab for the device to achieve FCC clearance. The product is owned and currently being shipped world-wide by Blink Device Company (blinkdc.com)
